Rogue is three years old. She’s been in a shelter for 3 years. Two days ago, she was at PetSmart with the Morehouse Humane Society. She was a shy, but lovable dog. Kali petted her and instantly fell in love with her.
We walked her around the store, and she was very impressionable. After that, we debated for up to 45 minutes on whether we should adopt her or not. We already adopted Gambit from the Louisiana ASPCA in New Orleans, and we weren’t sure if we wanted another dog.
Lo and behold, Tessie — as she was called then — had done enough to won Kali’s heart, especially when she gave us the big, sad brown eyes. We brought her in from a shelter, where she had been for most of her life. The first bit of peace she had was sleeping — and snoring — on the couch.
From a lifelong shelter dog to a family pet, life can’t get much better for Rogue. In this photo, she shows her appreciation.
