Ayana and Jaslyn Ray of Grambling State are heading overseas as part of the Louisiana National Guard. The sisters were greeted by Governor Bobby Jindal at the First Baptist Church in West Monroe. Jindal told the crowd, “Every single man and woman being deployed today deserves our love, our respect, and our gratitude.”
He later added, “Living for our fellow man is the supreme act of love.”
The Ray family was on hand to see the sisters off, and a few tears fell. Below are the captures we have of the event.
