Last year was one for the books.
It was the year of highs and lows. Beautiful arrivals and tragic departures. Challenging struggles and satisfying rewards. The Cubs winning a World Series in thrilling fashion and the Warriors blowing a 3-1 lead in the Finals.
(Sorry Warriors fans.)
For us, however, our theme of 2016 can be summed up in one word: growth. It sounds cliché. I mean – what human doesn’t grow somewhat. To grow is essentially to live. For us, we took that word seriously.
In our 5th year of being pro photographers, we’ve learned more, changed more, and did more about ourselves tgis year. Whether it be switching our style of photography, taking a little more time to perfect our craft, changing our business philosophy and structure, or tidying up our layout – we undoubtedly grew more as photographers than any other year.
Sure, there were challenges. Plenty of them. There isn’t a year that doesn’t have them. Even with the negatives, some highlights included shooting our first wedding overseas ever as well as our first published feature in some time (which you view here). While we didn’t get to shoot as many weddings compared to 2015, we improved the quality of our work by tenfold. The amount of quality relationships we made among our peers increased. Finally, we opened our first photography studio space together.
Our goals have never been bigger going into the New Year. Nonetheless, we’re pretty excited about what’s in store for us. For those that helped make 2016 a special one for us, we sincerely thank you. Here’s to more growth in 2017. We can all surely use some.
