#30RhedeontDays takes you behind some of the best photos taken by Darryl D. Smith and Kali Rhe Rogers. Here is why the photo was chosen in their words:
Every now and then, sports has a comeback story. None is more impressive to me than the Grambling State women’s soccer team beating Louisiana Tech in 2008.
Grambling started the game with only 10 players, compared to Tech’s 19. Tech jumped to a quick 2-0 lead in the game, and it seemed that it would be a blowout loss for the Tigers. But, they kept fighting and fighting, eventually scoring 2 goals in the last four minutes of the game, sending it to overtime. Shortly after the start of overtime, the game-winner was scored by Chelsea Miller.
This photo is what happened after the game-winner was scored, as the tired and exhausted players celebrated their hard-earned victory. Three players appeared to get hurt during the game, but they stayed on and kept fighting for the G.
This is a true testament of never giving up, and the Lady Tigers won despite all the odds. This is one of my favorite sports photos ever.
