We may have not been around much on the internet (ha), but 2017 was a great year for us. \u00a0And what\u2019s a great year without a few favorite shots of ours?<\/div>\n

Instead of doing everything in one post, we want to highlight each of our favorite photos taken during the year in the form of a blog series to get us back into the swing of things.<\/div>\n

Traci and CJ’s wedding was a treat to shoot – figuratively and literally.<\/div>\n
\n

Their wedding at the Venetian Terrace in Irving was an intimate, fun, and beautiful occasion to be a part of.\u00a0 Their wedding was especially awesome that it was held alongside the historic Mandalay Canal, which is one of the most popular places to take photos in Dallas.<\/p>\n

But one of the coolest parts about their wedding was definitely something that went against the grain against a fabled wedding tradition.<\/p>\n

Every wedding has it’s own unique quirks and this one was no different.\u00a0 Instead of using a traditional wedding cake, Traci and CJ opted out for gelato from Spin! Neopolitan Pizza.\u00a0 If you’re not familiar with Spin, they’re pretty good.\u00a0 This is coming from someone who’s highly picky about pizza.<\/p>\n

One trend Darryl and I have done a lot for weddings was photographing the couple either back of or beside the cake.\u00a0 Since there wasn’t one here, we had them pick up their gelato cups for the photo.\u00a0 It was completely different from what we’re usually accustomed to shooting, but it was still one of the more memorable wedding photos we’ve shot this year.\u00a0 It completely captured the love for each other, the intimacy between the two, but also nailed one of their favorite things in the process.<\/p>\n
