It was the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., that once said, “Everybody can be great…because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”<\/p>\n
Dr. Martin Luther King Day is not just a holiday, but a day of recognizing the importance of service to others. In case you may not know, I am a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, a historically black sorority founded at Howard University in 1920.<\/p>\n
The graduate chapter that I am active with was one of several different groups and organizations to march in a parade in commemoration of Dr. Martin Luther King. The parade and rally were both held in downtown Fort Worth. I have participated numerous events during Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, a couple of which were shot by me.<\/p>\n
This was the first time I ever got to participated in a parade, especially during the holiday. Needless to say, it was quite the experience and I hope that is something that I will get to do again next year.
